You will receive a labor and manufacturer warranty for your new roof. Your labor warranty will be written on the contract and is dependent on the type of shingle you choose.

Shingles have up to a 50 year manufacturer warranty.

• $1,000 to $2,500 for major roof repairs

This depends on the complexity of your roof and the materials used. However, on average, we can complete your roof in one day.

There’s an entire checklist we send our customers prior to installing a new roof. Some things that are often overlooked are satellite dishes, antennas, and solar panels. The original company who installed these products must be called to remove them properly prior to the roof installation. However, if you plan to dispose them afterwards, we can remove them for you.

Some other important things to consider are tarps to cover your pool and HVAC unit.

South Carolina weather can often be unpredictable so it’s not uncommon for an unexpected rain shower to occur during a roof installation. Your shingles attach to plywood, also known as roof decking. If it rains while this decking is exposed it will absorb the water and cause swelling. That’s why it’s important to cease all work if it begins to rain. We will then cover the decking with tarps to avoid water damage to your decking. We will only continue the project once the rain has completely stopped.

This question is hard to answer without a professional doing a proper roof inspection to determine the cause of the roof leak. If your roof was installed correctly, has no overhanging vegetation, and less than 15 years old then there’s a good chance all you’ll need is a repair. However, if your roof is over 20 years old and has multiple missing or curled shingles then there’s a good chance you’ll need a roof replacement.

The short answer is, yes. Architectural shingles offer a higher wind resistance than standard shingles. This premium feature is necessary in Myrtle Beach, SC where we often receive hurricane force winds. Furthermore, architectural shingles look better than standard 3-tab shingles due to added thickness and dimensions. This will increase the curb appeal of your home which will in turn, increase the value of your home.

This can often be difficult to foresee unless you have a professional conduct a roofing estimate. There are however several clues that you spot yourself. The main one is age. If your roof is more than 20 years old then there’s a good chance it’s time for a roof replacement. This doesn’t mean that younger roofs are immune to problems. If an unqualified contractor didn’t follow proper procedure, used cheap materials, shingled over shingles, or didn’t replace rotted decking than there’s a chance a newer roof could need a replacement.

One thing you can do is inspect your roof with binoculars from curbside. Pay close attention to curled edges, lifted, cracked, or missing shingles. Furthermore, smooth dark areas indicate the granules have worn off the shingle. Those are just a few of the visible issues that often result in a roof replacement. It is also recommended to go in the attic on a sunny day and check the underside of the stack vents and chimney to make sure no light is bleeding through. If light is shining through than that is an indication the flashing has failed.

Also, while you’re in the attic it’s a good idea to inspect the underside of the roof board for any signs of water damage or staining. During a rainstorm is another time to check your attic to make sure there is no soft spots or moisture accumulating.
